Next 24 and 25 February, HSH Prince Albert will be in California to participate in two major international events where He will speak on the theme of the Oceans.
On 24 February, at the invitation of the Commonwealth Club of California,* HSH the Prince will discuss "The State of the Oceans in the Modern World" and His commitment to the environment through actions conducted by the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation.
On 25 February, HSH the Prince will also attend the World Ocean Summit 2014** organised by The Economist in partnership with National Geographic, where He will discuss the theme "Sustainable Strategies for the Ocean" with world leaders from business, government, multilateral institutions, NGOs, think tanks and academia.
Alongside these events, HSH the Sovereign Prince will meet with many personalities such as Irina Bokova, Director-General of UNESCO, and HE José Maria Figueres, former President of Costa Rica.
Through participation in these two exceptional conferences, HSH the Sovereign Prince will reassert, in front of an international top-level audience, His personal commitment and that of the Principality in the area of the environment and sustainable development, in particular for the preservation of the Oceans.

** The Second World Ocean Summit, held from 24 to 26 February 2014, brings together global leaders from different horizons to continue the unique outcome-driven dialogue first established in Singapore at the first Summit in 2012.
Other personalities invited to speak at the World Ocean Summit 2014 include John Kerry, US Secretary of State, Aníbal Cavaco Silva, President of the Portuguese Republic, and Sri Mulyani, Managing Director of the World Bank.
