H.S.H. the Sovereign Prince reminds us that in this period of health crisis, which calls for national unity, the Institutions must continue to operate in accordance with the Constitution, of which it is the guarantor, and to refrain from polemics.
His Government is more than ever mobilised to manage one of the most serious crises that the Principality has had to face since the Second World War.
Having taken note of the open letter that was sent to Him addressed by the elected members of the National Council, H.S.H. the Prince welcomes the fact that His message of 19 March has been heard by the Assembly, which wishes to make its contribution within the strict framework of its constitutional jurisdiction.
The National Council has its role to play in the measures set up to combat this epidemic. That is why, as announced on 19 March last, on the proposal of His Government, H.S.H. the Prince has accepted the creation, by a Sovereign Order which He will sign in the coming days, of a joint COVID-19 monitoring committee, chaired by the Minister of State, within which the representatives of this Assembly will be closely informed of all the decisions taken or to be taken by His Government. Obviously, this will give the National Council the opportunity to formulate its proposals.
Aware of the consequences of this health crisis on the life of every person, the Sovereign Prince wishes to reaffirm his unfailing commitment to ensure that all necessary measures are taken.
He commends the complete mobilisation of the personnel of the Services of the State and the Commune and those of the health, aid and safety sectors as well as all the volunteers. Today the time has come for action, solidarity and unity.
