H.S.H. Prince Albert supports the humanitarian project launched in celebration of his 50th birthday

The goal of this project is substantially to increase the number of children treated in the Principality for pathologies that cannot be treated in their country of origin. Launched in January 2008, the project has already enabled 7 children from sub-Saharan Africa to have operations in Monaco.

The presentation evening gave H.S.H. the Sovereign Prince an idea of the scope of involvement in the project, as it was attended by partner hospital establishments (the Centre Hospitalier Princesse Grace, the Centre Cardio-Thoracique de Monaco and IM2S), the first donors, the host families and the children who had been operated on.

Wholeheartedly behind this initiative, and keen to support the solidarity that this humanitarian project has inspired among associations, the Prince's Government and the Monegasque people, H.S.H. the Sovereign Prince decided to contribute all of the donations collected on the occasion of his accession to the throne, totalling 560,000 euros.

This generous donation was added to the 400,000 euros already collected. Approximately one hundred children will thus be treated thanks to this initiative.
