On Sunday 27 October, HSH Prince Albert II will be participating in the annual meeting of the Mediterranean Science Commission (CIESM), as President.
The Commission now has twenty-four members, since the Russian Federation signed the instrument of accession last 4 October during the Sovereign Prince's official visit to Moscow.
On Monday 28 October, He will inaugurate the 40th CIESM Congress, with over a thousand researchers gathered to hear some eight hundred scientific papers all week at the Palais du Pharo in Marseille. The scientific programme will address six issues: Marine Geosciences, Physics & Climate of the Ocean, Marine Biogeochemistry, Marine Microbiology & Biotechnology, Living Resources and Marine Ecosystems, Coastal Systems.
The Sovereign will also attend presentations by scientific experts on Thursday 31 October and that Closing Cocktail on Friday 1 November.
