H.S.H. Prince Albert II of Monaco travels to Nanjing and Beijing

On Saturday 16 August after having attended an official dinner hosted by His Excellency Mr XI Jinping, President of the People's Republic of China, H.S.H. Prince Albert II of Monaco will attend the Opening Ceremony of the 2nd Youth Olympic Games at the Nanjing Olympic stadium.

On Sunday 17 August, the Sovereign Prince will enjoy an audience with His Excellency Mr XI Jinping before visiting the Olympic village.

As the Chair of Monaco's Olympic Committee, the Sovereign Prince will cheer on the competitor representing the Principality, the judoka Nicolas Grinda, and will attend some of the competitions and events.

On Monday 18 August, he will meet with Mr Thomas Bach, President of the IOC.

On Tuesday 19 August in Beijing, H.S.H. the Prince will meet with Chinese environmentalist and 2012 Goldman Prize winner Mr Ma Jun.

The Sovereign will also inaugurate the premises that are to serve as a base for the Principality of Monaco's presence in the Chinese capital. Provided in the context of a partnership agreement between the Parkview group and the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation, these premises will be home to the Consulate General of Monaco in Beijing and will bring new promotional opportunities for the Principality thanks to an event space christened the "Salone Monaco".

This space will thus allow the Embassy of Monaco to the People's Republic of China as well as the Principality's organisations to hold events, exhibitions, conferences and meetings, beginning with the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation, within the framework of its environmental activities.

On the occasion of the inauguration, a reception will be hosted by the Embassy of Monaco in China, and numerous meetings will be held between H.S.H. the Sovereign Prince and the Chinese authorities. The Prince will also meet with the Chinese winners of the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation award.
