With Christmas just a few days away, 730 Monegasque children aged between 5 and 12 gathered on Wednesday afternoon in the Cour d'Honneur of the Prince's Palace for the traditional Christmas tree lighting ceremony.
In a festive and friendly atmosphere, Their Royal Highnesses Prince Albert II and Princess Charlene, Crown Prince Jacques and Princess Gabriella, as well as Her Serene Highness Princess Stéphanie, Miss Camille Gottlieb and Mr. Louis Ducruet shared a special moment with the children as they handed out gifts.
Initiated by the Princely Family several decades ago, this iconic tradition is deeply rooted in the hearts of Monegasques. The first distribution of gifts in this form dates back to 1949, when Prince Rainier III ascended to the throne.
The program for this enchanting afternoon included a meeting with Santa Claus, artistic entertainment, and a tasting of sweets, much to the delight of the young guests.
It was a wonderful moment of sharing and magic, offered by the Princely Family to the youngest members of the community, in a Cour d'Honneur transformed for the occasion into a truly magical setting.
