H.E. Mrs Rora NAVARRO-TOLENTINO was accompanied for the occasion by Mr Stephen ZUELLIG, Honorary general consul of the Republic of the Philippines to Monaco. After being welcomed in the Cour d'Honneur of the Palace by the Company of Carabinieri guard of honour under the command of Colonel Yannick Bersihand, Senior Commander of the Police Force, Ambassador Rora NAVARRO-TOLENTINO was taken to the Hall of Mirrors by H.S.H the Prince's Chamberlain, Colonel Luc Fringant, with Mr Stephen ZUELLIG.
H.E. Mrs Rora NAVARRO-TOLENTINO then proceeded to present his Credentials to H.S.H. the Sovereign Prince who was accompanied by the Secretary of State, Mr Jacques Boisson, Head of H.S.H the Prince's Government, Mr Georges Lisimachio and Mrs Mireille Pettiti, General Director of External Relations Department. After the ceremony, H.S.H the Prince held a private audience with the Ambassador in the family drawing room.
Monaco and the Republic of the Philippines officially established diplomatic relations on 15 December 2006. Ms Navarro-Tolentino received consent from HSH the Sovereign Prince on 5 January 2009.
These two States are close in terms of Environmental Protection and the fight against HIV-AIDS. They also cooperate in the context of Monegasque NGOs, AMADE in particular.
